Robert Alton (Bob) Johnson, 52, of Hot Springs, SD passed away February 3, 2010 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Hot Springs.
Bob was born January 7, 1958 in Minneapolis, MN, to Robert H. and Lois (Hartneck) Johnson. He attended Park Center High School in Brooklyn Park, MN. Bob received his Bachelors of Applied Studies from the University of Minnesota in 1983. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served as Captain in the 2nd Battalion Field Artillery,5th Infantry Division.
On September 8, 2007 he married Emilie Garrett in Hot Springs, SD.
Survivors include his wife, Emilie of Hot Springs; son, Jake Johnson of Minneapolis, MN; daughter, Denise Johnson of Tempe, AZ; brothers, Gale (Denise) Johnson of Rapid City, SD; Scott Johnson of MN, and sister, Marjorie (Robert) Davis of Reno, NV.
Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 10, 2010 at the Evangelical Free Church in Hot Springs with Pastor Mark Crossman officiating.
Interment will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Hot Springs.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Bob's name to benefit the Evangelical Free Church.
