Obituary
Robert D. Calhoun, age 91, of Hot Springs, SD, passed away on May 2, 2016, at the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Robert was born on July 1, 1924, in Ravenna, NE, to Arthur and Beatrice (Baxter) Calhoun. After graduation he entered into the United States Merchant Marines. He married Corliss Young on May 10, 1945, in Hot Springs. Robert went to 2 years of Vocational School for Technical Electronics. He was a member of the American Legion and South Dakota Employees Organization.
Robert is survived by his wife, Gail Calhoun of Hot Springs; daughter, Bonnie (Lester) Kroeger of Vienna, VA; brother, Richard Calhoun of Derby, KS; sister, Patricia Sherlock of Alliance, NE; sister in law, Joan (James) Harnagel; 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Robert is preceded in death by his first wife, Corliss Calhoun, parents; 1 daughter; 2 brothers; 2 sisters.
Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m., Monday, May 9, 2016, at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD, with Rev. Gary Jacobsen.
