Robert Henry Moran Jr. 'Boney', 75, passed away April 21, 2024, at Fort Meade VA Medical Center.

Robert was born July 20, 1948, in Rosebud, SD to Robert H Moran Sr. and Francis Gordon Moran.  He grew up on his family ranch at Badnation, SD, a few miles from White River, SD.  At 17, Robert joined the U.S. Marine Corp where he served 8 years until his honorable discharge in 1971.    His tour of duty included a trip to Vietnam in 1969 as a Recon Marine.  He was a radio man and a team leader.

In his lifetime he had many different jobs to include ditch digging, haying, on the railroad and he worked for the University of Colorado.  While working for the University of Colorado he helped find fellow veterans and assisted them in getting their disabilities recognized.

Robert is survived by his sisters, Peggy Brennan; Lonie Sue Porter; brothers, Billy Ray Moran; Roger Moran; Albert Moran; wife, Linda; daughters, Jessalyn; Tonya; granddaughter, Shelby Wright and her son, Wayne; grandson, Michael WhiteBear and his wife, Megon and daughter, Millie.

Robert will be missed by many, he had a good sense of humor, he never knew a stranger and he would help if he could.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Hot Springs, SD, followed by committal services at 1:30 P.M., at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD.
