Obituary

Robert 'Bob' Bernard Piggott, age 79, of Custer, SD passed away on November 7, 2021, at his residence in Custer.

Bob was born on May 8, 1942, in Parkersburg, WV to Arthur and Lottie (Atkinson) Piggott. He was a home builder along with his sons. Bob enjoyed racing motorcycles and hill climbing four wheelers with his family on the weekends. He loved camping, hunting, fishing and sitting around a campfire with family and friends telling life's stories. For the last 6-1/2 years Bob & wife (Lee Ann) traveled full time with their horses all over the country, riding and site seeing. Bob hated to pass up an ice cream shop. Bob really loved all of the people he met along the way and if you knew Bob then you knew he never met a stranger.

Bob is survived by his wife, Lee Ann Piggott of Custer, SD; sons, Eddie (Leslie) Piggott; Timothy 'Tim' (Dorla) Piggott; Rob (Kellie) Piggott; Steven (Autumn) Piggott; stepson, John (Jan) Tennant; stepdaughter, Lisa (Madison) Williams; brothers, Tommy, and Michael; sisters, Susie, Barbara, Ruth Ann, and Nancy; twenty-two grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jimmy, and Jerry.

At the family's request no services will be held at this time, there will be a private memorial held next summer.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Bob's name, donations may be sent to: Lee Ann Piggott, 12114 East Meadow Ridge, Custer, SD 57730.

Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Custer.

God Needed A Carpenter.
I carried you out as far as they would let me go,
a makeshift hearse to town you would go.
No more fears, no more worries to come,
God needed a carpenter, your work here is done.
I expect you'll be working with wood trimmed in gold,
where its warm and inviting far from the cold.
God needed a carpenter, your up for the task,
do him right, you build to last.
Don't fret about the home down here,
your going to be busy and full of cheer.
God needed a carpenter, a master at it all,
we're all proud that he gave you his call.
We'll meet again this I am sure of,
your tools up there will be delivered by a dove.
Hold your square up and keep your string strait,
sharpen your pensile, don't worry about the weight.
God needed a carpenter, he took you on home,
yeah, we'll miss you, but we carry on alone.
God speed Bob Piggott, the flight is quick,
God needed a carpenter, you best get on the stick.
