Roper Ford Simunek was born, a gift from God, to Jeremiah and Britni (Mendel) Simunek of Oral, SD on Tuesday September 9th, 2008 at Rapid City Regional Hospital. He was born weighing 7lb 4oz, and was 20 inches long.
On September 11th, 2008 in the arms of his parents, Roper went home to be with Jesus in heaven. Wishing it could have been longer; his family cherishes the time they were given with him.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 15, 2008 at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs, SD.
Funeral Services will be held 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at the Southern Hills Evangelical Free Church in Hot Springs with Pastor Mark Crossman officiating.
Interment will follow at the Fairview Cemetery near Oral. The family will be hosting a fellowship luncheon at the Simunek Ranch near Oral following the interment.
Roper is survived by his parents, Jeremiah and Britni Simunek of Oral; brother, Chandler Simunek of Oral; grandparents, Steve and Carla Simunek of Hot Springs; Steve and Sande Mendel of Rapid City; great-grandparents, Floyd and Darlene Simunek of Hot Springs; Stan Hendrickson of Tomah, WI; Velma French of Huron, SD; Louise Mendel of Kansas City, MO; as well as numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his great-grandparents, June Hendrickson; Jim French and Noah Mendel.
Jeremiah and Britni wish to extent a special thank-you to the Rapid City Regional Hospital Labor and Delivery and the NICU staff for all the care and support they gave to Roper during his short precious life.
