Rose E. Barr, 91, passed away at her home in Hill City, SD, on April 21, 2019.

Rose was born on August 18, 1927, to Michael and Alice (Thompson) Mitchell. Rose was furiously loyal to family, friends and her church. Her God calling was to be a mother and she raised 10 children. Rose's greatest achievement was not just in raising her children on a shoestring budget. There was no greater love than to love unbounded as she did and to share her faith and love equally with all. We love you Mom.

Rose is survived by her sons, Robert Barr and Jack Barr; daughters, Patricia Edwards; Linda Barr; Mary Gilmore; Bonnie Streets; Sherry Breitkreutz; Dorothy Barr; sisters, Donna Alexander; Elma Schroeder and Connie Irmen.

Wake services will be held 5:30 p.m., Friday, April 26, 2019, St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Hill City, SD.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 27, 2019, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Hill City, SD. Committal services will be 9:00 a.m., Monday, April 29, 2019, at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis.

Arrangements have been placed in the care of Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Custer.
