Obituary

Roxanna Merwin, age 64, of Hot Springs, SD, passed away Monday, June 14, 2010 at Fall River Hospital in Hot Springs.

Roxanna was born August 10, 1945 in Alhambra, CA to Lloyd and Yvonne (Volaire) Polston. She attended school at San Gabriel High School in California. She was a professional musical artist who played drums for many big name people, including Rosie Hamlin who recorded "Angle Baby" and Bobby Day who recorded "Rockin Robin". She dearly loved music. On May 14, 1977 she married Richard Merwin at Camp Pendleton, CA. She was a very loving wife her whole life and took her marriage very seriously. She loved the military although she never served. She loved her family, friends and grandchildren, she also loved her loving dog, Twinkles. She was a joy to be with and will be missed greatly.

Roxanna is survived by her husband of 33 years, Richard Merwin of Hot Springs; son, Mark Merwin of Flint, MI; daughters, Michelle of MI; Catendia of CA; Christine of OR; half-brother, Robert Polston of Dallas, TX; and ten grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Yvonne and Lloyd Polston; her brother and her twin sister, Rene' Joan Polston.

Wake services will be at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, June 20, 2010 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Hot Springs.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 21, 2010 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Father Thomas Tierney officiating.

Interment will be at 2:30 p.m., Monday, June 21, 2010 at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD.
