Ruth G. Dodd, 82, of Hot Springs, SD died April 11, 2007 at the Fall River Hospital in Hot Springs, SD.
Ruth was born January 10, 1925 in Jordan, MT to parents, Andrew and Mary (Sturtz) Giesler. Ruth graduated from Plevna High School in 1944 and went to work at a hospital in American Falls, Idaho. She was married to James Dodd in 1948 and they made their home in Hot Springs, SD. Ruth was employed at the VA Medical Center as a food service worker until her retirement in 1989. She was a longtime member of the Bethesda Lutheran Church and will be missed by many.
Survivors include her two sons, Kent and Thomas Dodd, both of Hot Springs, SD;
three sisters, Penny Shampine of Portland, OR; Leona Head of Portland; OR, Viola Cackler of Pahrump, NV; and one brother; Ted Giesler of Plevna, MT.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, James; her parents, one brother; John, and one sister; Theresa.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs, SD, with Pastor Jake Jacobson officiating. Burial will take place 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD.
