Obituary
Sarah H. Gordon, age 97, of Hot Springs, SD, passed away April 11, 2012, at the Fall River Hospital in Hot Springs.
Sarah was born July 13, 1914, in Santa Ana, CA to Frank M. and Florence E. (Blake) Freeman. In 1933,she married Leo A. Gordon in Gettysburg, SD. They made their home in Gettysburg, SD until 1957, when they moved to Pierre, SD. In 1995, they moved to Hot Springs to be closer to family. For over 40 years she worked as a business manager, retiring in 1986, after 25 years with Beck Motors in Pierre, SD.
Sarah was a member of United Churches, Senior Citizens and DAR, a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary and DAV, and a charter member of the Mayflower Society.
Sarah is survived by her daughter Florence Jost, Hot Springs; her son, Dr. Ronald (Vivian) Gordon of Rapid City, SD; sister Margaret May, Hot Springs; three grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the United Churches in Hot Springs,Sunday, April 15, 2012, from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 16, 2012, at 10:00 a.m., at the United Churches with Pastor Clint Walker officiating.
Committal services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday,April 16, 2012, at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD.
