IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sherrie
Neubert
November 16, 1960 – March 15, 2026
Sherrie Ann Neubert
November 16, 1960 – March 15, 2026
Sherrie Ann Neubert, 65, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 15 at Monument Health Hospice, after fighting a long battle with heart disease, She was surrounded by her loving family.
Sherrie spent her early years on her mother, Elaine’s ranch, near Hermosa with her two siblings, Viola & Ralph. She then attended school in Rapid City, where she obtained her GED.
Sherrie met the love of her life, Rich, in Rapid City, where they wed May 7th, 1983. They moved back to Hermosa, followed by their forever home in Hill City. Celebrating 43 years of marriage, Rich and Sherrie shared a life full of memories. Camping that almost always got rained out at Angostura, fishing, enjoying time with friends, going for a cruise through the hills, traveling cross country to see the sights and the peace they found in their home together.
Her kids were her pride and joy. Everything she did, she did for her children. This quickly turned into her being a loving grandmother, ever proud of all their accomplishments. Children Michelle, Jennifer, & Cory, all can thank her for their resilience in life. Sherrie was a true teacher of compassion & hard work. Grandkids Blaine, Taegen, Taryn, Callie, Kellen, & Addie will forever remember their grandmother for her spunk and big hugs.
She was a staple in the Hill City community, from being a warm smile in Three Forks, the Taffy Shop, the school, and her final job before retiring, Krull’s Market. It is there where she got to see & know all the friendly faces, which had come to love her for her outspoken and loving demeanor. Many of these folks became lifelong friends.
Sherrie was preceded in death by 2 of her most favorite people, her parents Jack & Elaine Barber, mother and father-in-law Rose & Dick Neubert, as well as her dear friends, Julie & Jo, and many other family & friends, who were surely waiting to greet her.
A special thanks to Silas and Amber at Monument Health for the love and compassion they showed our family in the last few days of Sherrie’s life.
Celebration of life to be announced
I’m There Inside Your Heart :
Right now I’m in a different place
And though we seem far apart
I’m closer than I ever was…I’m there inside your heart
I’m with you when you greet each day
And when the sun shines bright
I’m there to share the sunsets, too…I’m with you every night
I’m with you when the times are good,
To share a laugh or two,
And if a tear should start to fall…I’ll still be there for you.
And when the day arrives
That we no longer are apart
I’ll smile and hold you close to me…Forever in my heart.
