Shirley Diane Hill, 90, of Hot Springs, SD, passed away March 1, 2024.  She was born January 14, 1934, in Belle Plain, IA, to Mike and Onilee Ferry.  The family lived in Toledo, IA and Boone, IA.  Shirley was the second child and only daughter of 11 children.  Shirley married Micky Conway, April 16, 1955.  Micky died 2 months after their wedding in a tragic auto accident.

Shirley married Al Hill in Boone, IA, May 3, 1958.  Al passed away December 1, 1998.  The couple lived in Marshalltown, IA and eventually settled in Hot Springs, SD in 1964.  They had 5 children.  Shirley was an Avon representative for 20 years.  She tutored at the school when her children were young.  She enjoyed golf, their cabin at Lake Angostura, entertaining with her many friends, water aerobics. she worked at the food pantry for many years and was known as the 'bag lady' there.  Above all, she loved her church.

Shirley is survived by her children, Mike (Argena) Hill of Spring Valley, CA; Steve (Joni) Hill of Hot Springs; Joel Hill of Hot Springs; Amy (Hill) Krcil of Hot Springs and Pat Hill of Rapid City, SD; siblings, Mick; Terry; Tim; Jim; Tom; Kevin; Kelly and their wives; sisters-in-law, Carolyn; Kay; Karen; many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her best friend, Ann Harrison.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, brothers, John; Pat; Denny and son-in-law, Bob Krcil.

Christian Funeral Vigil will be held 5:00 P.M., Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Hot Springs, SD with visitation following until 7:00 P.M.

Christian Funeral will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, March 8, 2024, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Hot Springs, SD with committal services following at Evergreen Cemetery in Hot Springs, SD.
