Stanley Allen 'Stan' Wilson, 66, of Hot Springs, SD passed away suddenly October 31, 2008 at the Fall River Hospital in Hot Springs, SD.
Stan was born November 15, 1941 in Oneida, TN to Ernest and Verlie (Phillips) Wilson. He was one of six children.
Stan proudly served in the United States Army from April 4, 1963 until his honorable discharge on March 26, 1965. He was a Vietnam Veteran.
Stan lived at the Michael J. Fitzmaurice State Veterans Home in Hot Springs. He attended the Southern Hills Evangelical Free Church in Hot Springs. Stan loved to share his faith in God with everyone. He never met a stranger, he was loved by family and many friends and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by two children, Allen Wilson of Macon, GA; Carlene (David) Hill of Macon, GA; brothers, Oliver (Carol) Wilson of Hot Springs, SD; Keith (Leza) Wilson of Saint Marys, GA; sisters, Peggy (Prent) Blevins of Chattanooga, TN; Beverly Flat of Gatlinburg, TN; and sister-in-law, Doris Wilson of Atlanta, GA.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Brian; brother, Ernest; and his long time friend and companion, Myra Peterson.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs.
Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, November 6, 2008 at Southern Hills Evangelical Free Church with Pastor Mark Crossman officiating.
A memorial has been established in Stan's name.
