Stephen Jay 'Steve' Fromme, Sr., age 68, of Custer, SD, passed away at the Custer Regional Hospital in Custer.
He was born September 27, 1942 in Queens, NY, to Irv and Betty (Olshan) Fromme. He attended the Colleen O'Hara's Beauty Academy and the Marinello's School of Beauty. He worked as a cosmetology instructor and a men's barber at Ellsworth Air Force Base. Steve was a historian and guardian at Crazy Horse Memorial. He excelled in culinary skills, hiking, reading and he loved traveling to far away places.
Steve is survived by his wife, Thea Parquet-Fromme of Custer; three sons, Eric (Melissa) Fromme of Laguna Nigel, CA; Stephen (Sheryl) Fromme, Jr. of Aurora, CO; David (Michelle) Fromme of Santa Monica, CA; stepson, John Parquet of San Diego, CA; stepdaughter, Rachel (Richard) Allen of Huntington Beach, CA; brother, Lloyd (Marla) Fromme of Dallas, TX; sister, Rhoda (Albe)Bieber of Prescott, AZ; and five grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, May 2, 2011, at Steve and Thea's home with Gordy Haggen and Pastor Jeff Rhor officiating.
