Susan Morrissey, 49, of Custer, SD passed away March 17, 2007 unexpectedly at her home in Custer, SD. With her passing, the lives of so many she touched with her compassion and love will be changed forever.
Susan and her husband, Mark, started the family restaurant "Our Place" in February of 2001. The establishment has grown to encompass not only the palette, but the very lives of the patrons they serve. Every morning, when the café lights went on at 4:30 am, life in Custer magically started. Her smile and great service ensured that.
The "Betty Boop" montage and Harley Davidson colors of the establishment personify Susan's love of life and dedication to the food service and tourism industry of the area.
Privileged to have shared her life were her husband, Mark Morrissey of Custer, SD; two brothers, Larry (Edith) Reynolds of San Rafael, CA; Chris Reynolds of Huntington Beach, CA; one sister, Stacy Reynolds of Custer, SD; six nieces, Jamie Reynolds, Kellie Reynolds, Sarah Reynolds, Taylor Reynolds, Hannah Reynolds and Seneca Reynolds. Included in this list are the lights of Custer which will forever be a little dimmer in the mornings without her great smile and kind words.
Susan was preceded in death by her father, Martin J. Reynolds, her mother, Madeline A. (Hoehr) Reynolds, and one daughter, Nicole.
A Wake Service will be held at 7:30 pm, Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at St. John's Catholic Church in Custer, SD with Father Peter Kovarik officiating.
Memorial Services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, March 22, 2007 at St. John's Catholic Church in Custer, SD, with Father Peter Kovarik officiating.
