Sylvia Marie Faulkner Dibble was born in Edgemont, SD, on November 30, 1930,
to Norma and Sterling Faulkner. She and her family moved to Wisconsin in the
late 1930's where she graduated high school. After high school, she returned
to Edgemont and worked at the Golden Rule.
On September 1, 1951, Sylvia married Ern Dibble with whom she raised three
sons. In 1982, they purchased the Edgemont Jack and Jill store and ran it
together until they retired.
Sylvia was a dedicated housewife who enjoyed baking and sharing treats each
Sunday. She dearly loved her family and was especially thrilled to spend
time with her great-grandchildren. Sylvia also enriched her life with
hobbies, such as ceramics, and enjoyed spending time visiting with friends
at PJ's.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Sandy; two brothers,
Howard and Jerry Faulkner; and her husband Ern.
She is survived by her three sons: Ed and Kathy Dibble of Belle Fourche, SD;
Jerry and Trudy Dibble of Edgemont, SD; and Scott Dibble and partner Scott
Hegenbart of Omaha, NE. Five grandchildren: Chris and Misty Dibble of
Casper, WY; Molly and Billy Wartenbee of Casper, WY; Teri and Jon Aberle of
Spearfish, SD; Daniel Dibble of Gillette, WY; and Renaee and Joe Rothermel
of Jacksonville, FL. Five great grandchildren: Haley, Brady, Cooper, Michael
and Jordan. Two sisters: Patricia and Wallace Jensen of Sioux Falls, SD;
and Sue Brayman of Reno, NV.
Committal services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 9, 2012 at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD with Dr. J. Edwin Coates officiating.
The family requests memorials be sent to the Edgemont Senior Citizen's
Center.
