Obituary

Terry Wayne Clifford, age 57, of Hot Springs, SD, passed away Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Hot Springs.

Terry was born December 8, 1952, in Rushville, NE, to Dewey J. and Doris Jean (Marrival) Clifford.

In 1971 he graduated from OCS High School in Pine Ridge, SD, and attended the University of South Dakota at Vermillion for a short time before enlisting in the United States Army in October 1971. He served until his honorable discharge in October 1974. Between 1974 and 1981 he attended the University of South Dakota, Vermillion; Chadron State College, Chadron, NE, and Santa Fe College, Santa Fe, NM. On August 15, 1981, he married Patricia Erickson Beeson. He worked for DOT from 1982 until 1989 when he retired.
After his retirement Terry and Patricia moved to Hot Springs.

Terry and Patricia raised a garden and would give their vegetables to neighbors, friends and the Food Pantry. Until his illness, Terry was an active member of the American Legion, St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and volunteered once a month at the Food Pantry.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Clifford of Hot Springs; step-daughters, Angela (Mike) Boggs of Des Moines, IA; Alanna Wadsley of Johnson Lake, NE; brothers, Allen Clifford of Spearfish, SD; Greg Clifford of Canon City, CO; sister, Linda Clifford of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren, Arran Boggs; Rachael Boggs and Nate Brickhouse and many nieces; nephews; aunts; uncles and cousins.

Wake services will be held 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 27, 2010, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Hot Springs with Father Thomas Tierney officiating.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 28, 2010, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Father Peter Kovarik officiating.

Interment will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 28, 2010, at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD.

Terry was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronnie and granddaughter, Shelby Brickhouse
