Obituary
Thomas Ross Hand, age 66, of Custer, SD passed away July 25, 2007 at the VA Medical Center in Hot Springs, SD.
Tom was born February 13, 1941 in Hot Springs, SD to Harold and Vera (Wickersham) Hand
Tom served in the United States Navy from 1960 until his honorable discharged in 1963. He retired after thirty four and one half years at the State Department of Roads in Custer, SD. Tom spent every available opportunity with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce; son, Larry (Diana) Hand of Custer; daughter, Terri (Corbin) Herman of Custer; brother, John (Nancy) Hand of Springfield, VA; sister, Judy Finch of Edgemont, SD; four grandchildren, Cody and Shane Herman and Tyler and Cassie Hand; special friends, Marty, Julie and son Dylan Goetsch of Spearfish, SD; and his dog, Susie.
Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 30, 2007 at the Custer Lutheran Fellowship with Pastor Kent Narum officiating. Committal services will be held 2:30 p.m., Monday July 30, 2007 at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD. Military honors will be provided by the Sturgis Honor Guard.
A memorial has been established in Tom's name to benefit the Custer YMCA Endowment Fund for Youth Programs.
