Thomas "Tom" J. Plooster, age 57, of Custer, SD died April 22, 2013 at Custer Regional Hospital in Custer, SD.

Tom was born February 14, 1956 in Corsica, SD, to Arlo and Arlene (Bordewyk) Plooster. He was baptized in the First Reformed Church of Harrison, where he attended catechism and Sunday School. He attended a rural school and graduated from Corsica High School in 1974. Tom attended SDSU in Brookings, SD.

He was employed by Hines Construction, Black Hills Electric Cooperative and Craig Hindle Construction.
Tom dearly loved the Black Hills, hunting and fishing. He was married to Sue Scott on December 29, 1977. To this union three daughters were born, Victoria, Elizabeth and Cassandra. Tom married Barb Larson on December 12, 1997.

Survivors include his wife, Barb Plooster of Custer, SD; mother, Arlene Plooster of Corsica, SD; three daughters, Vicki Plooster Gray of Houston, TX; Betsy (Trent) Shearer of Wall, SD; Cassie Plooster of Sheridan, WY; two step-sons, Michael Beeman of Charlotte, NC; K.J. Larson of Erie, PA; step daughter, Chantelle Larson of Erie, PA; brother, Todd (Brenda) Plooster of Corsica, SD; two sister, Judy (Ron) VanderBerge of Corsica, SD; Jolene (Dan) Brosz of Bowman, ND; one granddaughter, Zoey Shearer; three step-grandchildren, Nikki Beeman, Kaylee Beeman, Peyton Swanson and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 pm(CST), Saturday, April 27, 2013 at the First Reformed Church in Harrison, SD with Pastor Gary Maas officiating. Committal services will follow at the Harrison Cemetery and a lunch to follow at the Church Fellowship Hall.
