Obituary

Thomas (Tommy) Ray Jagow passed away at his home on Saturday, May 19, 2007.

Tommy was born August 5, 1948 at Appleton, Minnesota to Hildegarde (Reinke) and Raymond Jagow. He graduated from Appleton, Minnesota High School in 1968 as well as the Reich School of Auctioneering during his senior year. After high school he attended South Dakota State University for two years.

In 1973 Tommy married Robin Norman of Buffalo Gap. To this marriage were born four children: Chad Ryan, Brandon Jay, Lathe Thomas and Lex Graham. Tommy and Robin were divorced in 1997.

Tommy ranched east of Buffalo Gap for several years before he purchased his own place at Oral in 1987. He farmed and ranched there until selling the farm in 2001, at which time he purchased property outside of Hot Springs and continued his interests of trucking and heavy equipment operation. At the time of his death, he was in the process of fulfilling his long-time dream of building the first truck wash in the Southern Hills.
Tommy was a long-time member of the SDRA and NRCA rodeo associations, winning several championships over the years. Rodeo and horses were a passion of his that he held throughout his lifetime.

Survivors include his three sons, Chad of Spearfish, SD; Brandon of Rapid City, SD; Lex of Gillette, WY; mother, Hildegarde Jagow of Sioux Falls, SD; father, Ray Jagow of Luverne, MN; a brother, Dave (Viva) of Hardwick, MN; sister, Raechelle Jagow of Sioux Falls, SD; as well as nieces, Trisha Rowden of Lismore, MN; Amie Rowden of Howard, SD; nephews, Cody Jagow and Jarod Rowden, both of Luverne, MN.

He is preceded in death by his third born son, Lathe and both his paternal and maternal grandparents.

Visitation will be held at McColley's Chapel in Hot Springs from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, May 25, 2007.

Funeral services will be held in McColley's Chapel at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 26, 2007 with Pastor Kevin Clark officiating.
