Timothy Martin Griffin, 52, was born February 20, 1956 in Rapid City to Donald and Vallis Griffin. He died May 14, 2008 at his home in Custer, SD.
Tim moved to Custer when he was nine years old with his dad and stepmother. He graduated from Custer High School and attended Mitchell Vo Tech in Mitchell where he graduated with a degree in sheet metal work. He worked for Burlington Northern Railroad from 1979 until 1998 when he was retired because of a work related injury.
Tim and Lee (Tielke) were married in Hill City July 16, 1977 and they had three daughters. On April 12, 1995 Tim married Vanessa Hougland of Custer in Newcastle, WY.
Survivors include his daughters Jennifer (Steve) Harbour, Branson, MO; Tammy (Sterling) Winkelman and Gail (Dale) Dishman, Lincoln, NE; stepmother Lorraine Griffin, Keystone, SD; stepbrother Harold Pierce, Custer; special friend Carol Osborne, Custer.; five beloved grandchildren; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceding him in death were his father Donald L. Griffin; stepbrother Darrold Pierce, Sr.; stepsister Donna Walton; nephew Darrold Pierce, Jr.; niece Dawn Pierce; and great-niece Angel Pierce.
Visitation will be from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, May 18, 2008 at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Custer.
Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, May 19, 2008 at the Keystone United Church of Christ in Keystone, SD with Pastor Chuck Landon officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Keystone.
