Obituary

Timothy F. Murray, age 67, of Hot Springs, SD, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2012, at the VA Medical Center in Hot Springs.

He was born December 31, 1944, in San Francisco, CA, to Timothy and Elsie Dawn (Leonard) Murray, Sr.

Tim served in the United States Navy Submarine Division Active Duty from 1963 until 1965 and transferred to Naval Reserve. Upon discharge from the service, Tim went into law enforcement. During his 29 years in law enforcement, he worked for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, San Francisco State Police Department and Broadmoor Police Department. Tim retired from the profession he truly loved in July of 1993, after an accident left him disabled.

He and his wife, Sharon came to Hot Springs from the San Francisco Bay Area in 1994, and opened a handicap accessible campground in the valley of the Seven Sisters Mountain Range. He worked part-time for Southern Hills Alcohol and Drug in Hot Springs as a chemical dependency counselor until his retirement in 2008.

His dear friends and family will miss his caring and gentle nature and wonderful sense of humor.

Sharon says that her beloved Tim is walking once again with the Lord.

Survivors include his wife, Sharon Murray of Hot Springs, and sister, Patricia (Carl) Genasci of Loyalton, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his son, Joseph.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 3, 2012, at McColley's Chapel of the Hills in Hot Springs. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service.
