Twalla Rose "Bonnie" Davis, age 84, of Custer, SD, passed away on March 20, 2016, at the Custer Regional Senior Care Center in Custer.
Bonnie was born on February 28, 1932, in Seattle WA, to James P. and Twalla Rose (Wannebo) Clark. She went to grade schools in Seattle, WA; Junior High School in Everett, WA; then moved back to Seattle and graduated from West Seattle High School in 1950. Bonnie played the violin for the Everett High School Orchestra and also West Seattle High School Orchestra.
Bonnie married Robert Eugene Davis at the Eilson Base Chapel in Fairbanks, AK, on May 18, 1951. They lived in Fairbanks 1 year, move to Seattle, WA for one year, and then moved to South Dakota in 1953 and Custer in 1963.
Bonnie was a lifetime member at the Custer Senior Center working in the Gift Shop, helped recycle cards, and enjoyed being at the Center visiting with the members. Bonnie was also a member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 3342 in Custer. She loved playing the organ, reading, doing bead work, music, flowers, her cat Toby, and all of her dear family.
She is survived by her children, Stephen R. (Deb) Davis of Custer; Carol J. Muscato of Fallon, NV; Glenn E. (Tina) Davis of Hot Springs, SD; Judy A. (Mike) Hallor of Rapid City, SD; Kathy J. Cundy of Custer; Michael J. Davis of Custer; sisters, Florence M. Smith of Bartlett, TN; Norma J. Jefferson of Coupeville, WA; 17 Grandchildren; and 23 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 26, 2016, at Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Custer with Pastor Van Arp officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service. A luncheon will follow at the Custer VFW Post 3342 basement.
A memorial has been established in Bonnie's name to benefit the Custer Senior Center. Memorials may be sent to: 538 Mount Rushmore Road, Custer, SD 57730.
