Valborg "Bobbie" Olive Moore, 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 18, 2007 at the Custer Regional Senior Care, Custer, SD. She entertained many a crowd throughout the Black Hills and United States with her singing and piano playing for over 60 years. She requested no service but instead wished for contributions to be made to the Custer Regional Senior Care Activities Department to keep the music flowing and "bingo calling".
Bobbie was born June 18, 1916 in Spring Grove, Minnesota to Oscar and Molly (Dirdahl) Sagdalen,
Her family moved to Keystone, SD in 1920 where she was raised until she married. In 1932, she married Frances Monahan (divorced 1951) and they were blessed with 7 children. In 1951 she married William H. Moore and they were blessed with two children.
She is survived by sons: Leo (Karen) Monahan, Barnyardsville, NC, Carty (Donna) Monahan, Ft. Atkinson, WI, five daughters: Molly Ann Littrell, Wenatchee, WA, Shari (David) Luckett, Moriarty, NM, Kay (Jim) Welsh, Wenatchee, WA, Christine (Fred) Dieterle, Spokane, WA and Jeanine (Chuck) Gould, Custer, SD. Nephew Jack (Betty) Sagdalen, Keystone, SD, Nieces Beverly (John) Zwetzig, Keystone, SD and Wallene Esser, Gulfshores, Al. She was blessed with 29 grandchildren, and 55 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren with 2 more on the way. Numerous great nieces and nephews, good friends and extended family from Custer Regional Senior Care.
She was preceded in death by parents Oscar & Molly Sagdalen, brothers Baldwin & Carlton Sagdalen, husbands Frances J. Monahan and William H. Moore, two sons – David L. Monahan and Jay R. Moore and one great granddaughter Natasha Mirghanbari.
Bobbie loved to play the piano and entertain people with her great sense of humor all over the Black Hills. In her later years she volunteered to play for the residents at the Custer Regional Senior Care until she herself became a resident in 2003 where she could occasionally be heard playing for her friends and care givers.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
