Obituary
Vernon Lee Cornell, age 70, of Edgemont, SD, passed away on June 19, 2017, at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, CO.
Vernon was born on April 4, 1947, in Gary, IN, to Robert and Wilma (Roy) Cornell.
Vernon lived in Lowell for most of his life, until falling in love with South Dakota 21 yrs ago. He was an outdoorsman enjoying fishing and hunting. For Vernon, family came first and took care of everyone. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his brother, Tom (Bernice) Cornell of Lowell, IN; and sister, Catherine (Phil) Hall of Fredrick, CO; nieces and nephews, Nicole (Jim) Kroll, Michael (Terri) Cornell, Dalton and Savannah Hall; great nieces and nephews, Kailyn, Joshua, and Caroline.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Wilma Cornell.
A visitation service will be held 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 26, 2017, at Sheets Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 604 E. Commercial Ave., Lowell, IN 46356.
Funeral Service will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 30, 2017, at Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Hot Springs, with Pastor Morris Nelson officiating. Committal services will follow at the Edgemont Cemetery.
