Violet L. "Cookie" Whitney, age 70, of Pringle, SD, passed away May 11, 2014, at the Custer Regional Hospital in Custer.
Cookie was born August 17, 1943, in Custer County to Joe and Ella (Soholt) Pond.
She is survived by her sons, Robert Whitney of Pringle; Dean (Karen) Whitney of Custer; Joe (Dena) Whitney of Sheridan, WY; Wendell (Karen) Whitney of Pringle; daughter, Dawn (Denny) Tesch of Rapid City, SD; brothers, Lyle Pond of CA; Bill (JoAnn) Pond of Rapid City, SD; Albert (Judy) Pond of Custer; sisters, Wilma (Charles) Goodsell of Pringle; JoAnn (Everett) Dean; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at10:00 a.m., Friday, May 16, 2014, at the Pringle Fire Hall in Pringle with Pastor Becky Piper officiating. Committal services will follow at the Pringle Cemetery.
