Obituary
Virgil LeRoy Bowman, age 87, of Custer, SD, passed away on February 3, 2015, at the Custer Regional Hospital in Custer.
Virgil was born on March 18, 1927, in Catawba County, N.C., to Roy and Eva (Hollar) Bowman. He served in the Navy during World War II from 1944-1946.
Virgil survived by two daughters, Sherry (Don) Schnoor of Custer; Vanessa Bowman and her children, Jon (Meegan) Alfred of Goodyear, AZ; Lucas (Heidi) Alfred of St. George, UT; and six great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Kathryn Bowman.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Virgil and Kathryn Bowman's name may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
