Obituary
Wade Alexander Burns, age 42, passed away September 11, 2014, at his home in Hot Springs, SD.
Wade was born on September 11, 1972, in Cedar Rapids, IA, to Cliff Johnson and Elaine (Knutson) Johnson. He was a caring, loving and compassionate child. His interests then included Star Wars, and playing his guitar which he taught himself to play. His dog, Shadow, a Pomeranian-Poodle mutt, helped Wade by fetching tennis balls when he was doing his batting practice.
Wade served in the United States Army from October 20, 1992, until his honorable discharge on August 23, 1995. He was the owner of Elite Fitness Studio in downtown Hot Springs.
Wade was preceded in death by his father, Cliff Johnson. He was raised by his mother and stepfather; and when Wade was an adult, he chose to show his appreciation for his stepfather by changing his own last name to Burns.
Survivors include his mom and dad, Elaine and Gale Burns; brothers, Emmett Burns and Shawn Burns ; as well as many aunts and uncles.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, September 18, 2014, at Hot Springs VA Protestant Chapel in Hot Springs.
