Obituary
Walter G. Southward, age 81, of Edgemont, SD, passed away January 21, 2014, at the Castle Manor Nursing Home in Hot Springs, SD.
Walter was born December 2, 1932, to Frances Lucille and James A. Southward in Ohio. He proudly served in the United States Navy then attended the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL.
Survivors include three daughters, Cori (Curtis) Conner of Atlanta, GA; Julie (Marty) Hile of Atlanta, GA; Claudia (Rick) Beesley of Nashville, TN; and one grandchild, Preston Beesley; as well as his former wife, Rose Hancock of Atlanta, GA.
Committal services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 22, 2014, at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, SD, with Chaplain Loyd Nielson officiating.
