Obituary
Wayne W. Burgess, age 82, of Hot Springs, SD, passed away May 7, 2011, at Rapid City Regional Hospice House in Rapid City, SD.
Wayne was born December 20, 1928, in Fall River County, SD, to George W. and Edna L. (Hamilton) Burgess. He married Agnes on January 28, 1946 and they spent their life together on a ranch south east of Oelrichs. To this union two children, DuWayne and Teresa were born.
Wayne is survived by his wife, Agnes of Hot Springs; daughter, Teresa (Brett) Blessing of Hot Springs; five grandchildren, Michael (Sarah) Close of Hot Springs; Merissa Rickel (Jason Bochman) of Hot Springs; Amanda Burgess of Montrose, CO; Cody Blessing of Hot Springs, Jason Blessing of Hot Springs; three grandchildren, Matt Close, John Close and Josh Close, all of Hot Springs; one great grandson on the way as well as a nephew, David Burgess of MN.
Wake services will be held at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2011, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Hot Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Hot Springs. Interment will follow at the Hillside Cemetery near Oelrichs, SD.
A memorial has been established in Wayne's name and may be sent to Teresa Blessing, 27275 Bailiwick Rd., Hot Springs, SD 57747.
