Wayne Carlin Hooper, age 54, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2011, at his home in Hot Springs, SD.
He was born August 16, 1956, in Imperial, CA, to Warren and Frances (Johnson) Hooper.
Wayne graduated from Imperial California High School. He also attended welding workshops and MCT Truck Driving School in Sioux Falls. On August 21, 1985 he married Edith Sipe in Murdo, SD. The couple lived there until moving to Hot Springs in 2005.
He was a 4-H member earning many honors. In high school he was an all-star football and baseball player. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Edie of Hot Springs; one son, Nicholas Hooper of Spearfish, SD; father, Warren Hooper and brother, Jerry Hooper currently living in California.
Wake service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, March 11, 2011, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Hot Springs.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, March 12, 2011, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church with Father Peter Kovarik officiating.
