Obituary
Wayne R. Sauer, age 74, of Custer, SD, passed away April 20, 2010 at Custer Regional Senior Care Center in Custer.
Wayne was born August 14, 1935 out on the Limestone in Custer County, to Frank and Pearl (Hall) Sauer. He spent his entire life in Custer. He received his BS degree in Education from Black Hills State University in Spearfish, SD.
The most important thing to Wayne was his faith. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Custer. He also loved attending his class reunions.
Survivors include brother, Vance (Helen) Sauer of Indianapolis, IN; sister, Betty J. Sauer of Rapid City, SD; nieces, Linda McKahan; Claralee Stevenson; nephew, Don Sauer; great-niece, Jamie Lynn McKahan; great-nephews, Chris Stevenson; Shawn McKahan; and great great-nephew, CJ McKahan.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and three brothers.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 23, 2010 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Custer with Pastor Robert Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at the Custer Cemetery.
A memorial has been established in Wayne's name to benefit the Hospice of the Southern Hills.
