William Charles "Bill" Beaudette, Jr., age 76, of Hill City, SD, passed away on June 28, 2016, at the Custer Regional Senior Care Center in Custer, SD.
Bill was born on August 18, 1939, to William Charles and Marion (Wilbur) Beaudette, Sr., in St. Paul MN. He was educated at St. Thomas Academy in St. Paul, followed by the University of Minnesota. Bill served as an Air Traffic Controller with the United States Air Force from 1958-1961. He married Carolyn "Carrie" Wiebelhaus on September 29, 2000. Bill lived his dream of owning and operating Horse Creek Inn for 22 years with his life partner, Carrie. You could find him at the end of the bar cutting meat while enjoying a stiff drink and the company of his wonderful customers. Bill and Carrie retired in 2010. He was an avid wood carver, loved playing golf weekly with Carrie, working on his cars and tinkering around his property, a major Neil Diamond fan and loved listening to his music.
Bill was extremely proud of his children and loved them deeply. He also loved the company of his grandchildren.
Bill is survived by the love of his life, Carrie Beaudette of Hill City; sons, William Charles (Kira) Beaudette,III of St. Paul, MN; Daniel Joseph (Stephanie) Beaudette of Parker, CO; daughters, Mary Terese (Chad) Kardash of St. Paul, MN; Lori Lyerla (Luke Crawford) of Rapid City, SD; Lisa (Michael) Engebretson of Hot Springs, AR; 7 grandsons, McClain, Wil, Nicholas, Brogan, Blake, Luke, Dillon; 2 granddaughters, Genevieve and Michaela; nephews, Nick and Michael.
Memorial services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 2, 2016, at Chamberlain McColley's Funeral Home in Custer with Fr. Korban Janusz officiating. Burial will be held on 1:00 p.m., Thursday, Sepember 29, 2016 at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD, with Military Honors.
A memorial has been established in Bill's name to benefit Alzheimers.
