Obituary

William Paul 'Billy' Maple, age 41, passed away August 30, 2013, at his home in Hot Springs, SD. He was born January 2, 1972, in Jefferson, AR, to William and Marie (Smith) Maple. He attended Pine Bluff Arkansas school, later moving to Colorado Springs, CO, with his half-brother.

Billy was a jack-of-all- trades, when he started walking his dad would take him to work with him in the carpentry business. He learned it all. Eventually he came to South Dakota and worked for Buss and Marcie Barkley on the ranch. He started cutting wood and selling it on the side. Billy became sick and moved into town with his dad. He met his wife, Sandy Burgess, and married her on August 7, 1993, he then began his career with the City of Hot Springs.

Billy's family was most important to him, the kids were his world, especially his "little baby boy". He had a passion for hunting and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra of Hot Springs; son, Nate (Rikki) Burgess of Rapid City, SD; daughter, Tiffany (Jullian) Ulrich of Hot Springs; brother, David Reap of Sheridan, AR; half-brothers, Bob (Carla) Reap of Sheridan, AR; Larry (Belen) Hood of St. Charles, IL; Robert Sharp of ND; half-sister, Patty (Charles) Dice of El Dorado Springs, MO; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; great-grandparents; and father-in-law, Frank Burgess.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. thru 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 5, 2013, at McColley's Chapels of the Hills in Hot Springs.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 6, 2013, at McColley's Chapels of the Hills in Hot Springs with Pastor Gary Jacobson officiating. Interment will follow at the Hillside Cemetery near Oelrichs, SD.

Memorials in Billy's name may be made to the American Heart Association or the Rapid City Regional Hospice in Rapid City.
