IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William
Boggs
March 5, 1943 – August 15, 2021
William (Billy) Boggs passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, on August 15,2021. He fought a strong and courageous fight, right to the end.
William was born on March 5, 1943, to Merle Boggs & Desyl (Dean) Boggs in Pringle, SD. While growing up, Billy worked at his family's sawmill in Pringle. On November 20, 1962, he married the Love of his Life, Sandra Simants. To this union five children were born. They moved their family to Nebraska where he worked for Nebraska Public Power. In the early 1970's they moved back to South Dakota where he worked in various gravel quarries and did the drilling and blasting on the Hot Springs Viaduct, then he became self-employed as a feldspar miner.
In 1988, when returning to logging, Billy was in a logging accident in which resulted in a broken neck. He was put in a halo, and anybody who knew Billy, knew he could not sit around and do nothing, so his family remembers when he went to change the oil (against better advice) and got hung up underneath the car. This is one of those memories that will always make us smile.
Billy loved to go hunting and fishing with his kids, grandkids and sons in law.
Billy is survived by his wife Sandra, Belle Fourche; Two sons, James Boggs, Texas; Edward (Laura) Boggs, Florida; Three daughters, Shelley (Shawn) Stiles, Deadwood; Lori Boggs (Travis Lipp), Belle Fourche; Annette (Rob) Miller, Custer; Eleven Grandchildren, Kylar Boggs, Texas; Candace Boggs, Texas; Brianna (Dillon) Larson, Texas; William (Kat) Boggs, Sturgis; Adam (Jo) Stiles, Sturgis; Andrew (Priscila) Stiles, Texas; Erica (Curt) Gerkin, Belle Fourche; Emitt Lipp, Belle Fourche; Kristina (Heath) Reindl, Custer; Cody Miller, Rapid City; Brandon Miller, Washington DC; Seven great grandchildren, Eisley Larson, Tregan VanDorn, Dalton Boggs, Jamison Boggs, Eliza Gerkin, Kiera Miller, Quinn Reindl, his eighth grandbaby to come, Jocelynn Stiles; Sisters, Shirley Williams (Dan), Custer; Jeannie (Kevin) Bourne, Rapid City, and many nieces and nephews.
