Obituary
William E. Morrison, age 97, formerly of Edgemont, SD, passed away on January 1, 2016, at the Seven Sisters Nursing Home in Hot Springs, SD.
William was born in Mesa, AZ, on June 8, 1918, to Raynor and Loretta (Scott) Morrison. He worked for the Railroad Company over many years as a Railroad Conductor, retiring in 1972. William was a Boxer for the United States National Guard. He was an avid fisherman, loved camping, rock hunting, and fudge. William will be dearly remembered for his large heartedness and generosity towards those in need.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Helen (Roller) Morrison and son, William Russell Morrison.
William is survived by his daughters, Rhonda (W.Lee) Gillispie of Edgemont, SD; Lola (Les Haines) Morrison of Edgemont, son, Jim (Gwenda) Morrison of Rapid City, SD; 9 grandchildren, Kim; Don; Trina; Andrew; Paul; Rick; Brian; Ben; Daniel; 17 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild.
Memorial services will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 8, 2016, at the United Church in Edgemont with Pastor Tom Peacock officiating. Interment will follow at a later date.
A memorial has been established in William's name to benefit the Edgemont Senior Citizens Center.
