Zabie Pearl (Zimiga) Pudwill was born February 1, 1941, in Wanblee, SD, to James and Grace (Hawkins) Zimiga. She grew up in Edgemont with her seven brothers and sisters. She was married to Duane Peck from March 1963-February 1988. One son and two daughters were born to this union; Connie DeHaai, Donnie Peck and Kristy Green. She later married Norman L. Pudwill on December 16, 1988. Zabie, 75, of Hot Springs, passed away at the Fall River Hospital on February 23, 2016.
Zabie loved gardening especially flowers and trees. She worked at Castle Manor Nursing Home for about 20 years as a CNA. She enjoyed taking care of her family and others. She loved to travel and see her children and grandchildren. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 71 and VFW Auxiliary Post 1640. Zabie also loved her animals.
She is survived by her husband, Norman L. Pudwill of Hot Springs; son, Donnie (Kris Stiles) Peck of Hot Springs; daughter, Connie (Jay) DeHaai of Papillion, NE; daughter, Kristy (Howard) Green of Hot Springs; grandchildren, Jenni (Devin) Jensen of Bellevue, NE; Nichelle DeHaai of Papillion, NE; Kyle Peck of
Worland, WY; Kaylee Peck of Hot Springs; and Charles Green of Hot Springs; great-grandchildren, Rhilyn Jensen and Kayden Hinton; two brothers, Marclef Zimiga of Hot Springs;Carl Zimiga of Edgemont; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Wake services will be held 7:00 p.m., Sunday, February 28, 2016, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Hot Springs.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 29, 2016, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Hot Springs with Fr. Kerry Prendiville as celebrant. Interment will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Hot Springs. A reception will follow at the American Legion Post. Food provided by and served by the American Legion Post and Auxiliary.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to benefit St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Hot Springs.
